Oreo ORIGIN

The origin of the name Oreo for the biscuits is unknown, but there are many theories, including derivations from the French word 'Or', meaning gold (as early packaging was gold), or the Greek word 'Oreo', meaning beautiful, nice or well done. Oreos, are known as cookies in US English and biscuits in real English.

Oreos - What's trending

Our deluxe Oreos are for eating and enjoying, but it's not true for everyone, as Bamforth describes it, it's a simple recipe: "Oreos + Milk + Too Much Free Time." The delicious results speak for themselves.

Deluxe OREOS

Our Oreos Deluxe biscuits are encased in chocolate and then decorated to your choice according to the occasion: weddings, birthdays & Easter, etc. Although our Oreo Deluxe are created in Cape Town they are couriered countrywide. We decided to use the term  "biscuits" to accommodate English speaking people and "cookies" to accommodate the Afrikaans & our American friends who keep changing the meaning of the terms. :)
